GPA Calculator
Calculate your Grade Point Average from total grade points and credit hours.
The GPA Calculator computes your Grade Point Average by dividing your total grade points by total credit hours. GPA is the standard measure of academic performance used by colleges and universities worldwide.
How GPA Is Calculated
GPA = Total Grade Points ÷ Total Credit Hours. Each course contributes grade points equal to (grade value × credit hours). For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course contributes 12.0 grade points.
GPA Scale
- 3.7 - 4.0: A range (Excellent)
- 3.3 - 3.69: B+ range (Very Good)
- 3.0 - 3.29: B range (Good)
- 2.0 - 2.99: C range (Satisfactory)
- Below 2.0: Below average / Academic probation
To use this calculator, add up all grade points from your courses (each course's letter grade value multiplied by its credit hours) and enter the total. Then enter the total number of credit hours attempted.
