Ideal Weight Calculator
Find your ideal body weight using four established formulas and the healthy BMI range.
There is no single "ideal weight" — it varies based on your body composition, frame size, and overall health. This calculator provides estimates from four well-known medical formulas plus the healthy BMI range to give you a comprehensive picture.
The Robinson formula (1983) and Miller formula (1983) are considered more moderate and realistic for modern populations. The Devine formula (1974) tends to estimate slightly higher for men and lower for women. The Hamwi formula (1964) is one of the earliest and is still commonly used in clinical settings.
All four formulas use height as the primary variable and were developed for adults of medium frame size. They calculate a base weight for the first 5 feet (152.4 cm) of height, then add a fixed amount per additional inch.
The healthy BMI range (18.5-24.9) provides perhaps the most useful reference, as it was derived from large population studies linking weight to health outcomes. Use these numbers as general guidelines, not strict targets. Your ideal weight is one where you feel healthy, energetic, and can maintain it sustainably.
