Temperature Converter
Convert between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin using exact formulas.
The Temperature Converter converts between the three major temperature scales: Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. Unlike other unit conversions, temperature uses non-linear formulas rather than simple multiplication factors.
Conversion Formulas
- Celsius to Fahrenheit: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32
- Celsius to Kelvin: K = °C + 273.15
- Fahrenheit to Celsius: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
Key Reference Points
Water freezes at 0°C = 32°F = 273.15K. Water boils at 100°C = 212°F = 373.15K. Absolute zero is -273.15°C = -459.67°F = 0K. Normal body temperature is approximately 37°C = 98.6°F.
Temperature conversion is needed in cooking, weather, science, and engineering. Celsius is used worldwide, Fahrenheit is common in the US, and Kelvin is the SI standard used in science.
